“My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary during our stay… [We found you] on TripAdvisor.com... The rooms were beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Details were well thought out...the lighting by the bed, flowers placed outside on the porch in full view, the music, featherbeds, continental breakfast and newspaper brought to the room each morning… [The] gentleman working evening shift at the front desk during our stay [and] the women bringing us continental breakfast each morning were… very nice… The attention to details and friendliness of the staff made our stay on Monterey Bay a time to remember. “I've been coming here (from the UK, but via LA) every year since 1999 for MotoGP at Laguna Seca! Does this say something!!?? ;-) I just LOVE your hotel; classy and comfortable without being snooty (that's an ENGLISH term). Bethany and Jessica [at the front desk] were like "old friends." JUST GREAT!!! And what a (return) welcome we got too!!! Hopefully we'll see you again in 2011!” - 07/22/10
“One of your nighttime staff members was so great - he helped me clean up my child's car seat and clothing (he had been car sick)… He was so nice about a bad situation and a stressed out Mom… [Also] I have never been in a bathroom so perfectly configured, designed, and styled. I actually would appreciate it if you could take some photos (just phone photos would do) and send them to me. I will remodel my own master bath at some point and would like to incorporate some of the features. For example, the lighting was perfect, the shelf over the sink was the right size and the sink cabinets were higher (I am tall). The materials and colors all went together so well. The room was not so big for the four of us, but since the space was so well designed and we had a beautiful view, and the bed was so comfortable, we were very happy. I loved your location by the beach but also next to Cannery Row. We could walk to everything. I hated to leave.” – 06/03/10
“The most recent edition of Best Places Northern California recommends your hotel and it was the right mix for us: located on Cannery Row (within walking distance of the aquarium), with rooms right on the water, and not too stuffy… I wish I had thought to keep names. Frankly, every staff member we met -- even those we simply passed in the hallway -- was friendly, polite, and helpful… We loved the room; in fact, we wish we could replicate it in our house! And the privacy of the waterfront rooms was amazing. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly want to stay with you again if we are lucky enough to return to Monterey.” – 06/11/10
“This hotel was wonderful! Its location is ideal and in walking distance of everything you could ever need. The view was AMAZING, we watched sea otters play every morning. Absolutely wonderful experience… Loved our room, our view, the waves crashing against the rocks at night. Not to mention our in-room breakfast! Our room service was suburb, so delicious and quick. 10 out of 10 for everything. We will be back, for sure! Thanks Monterey Bay Inn!” – 06/07/10
“…the front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable at check-in and gave us some great info on the surrounding area and restaurant options… We really enjoyed our stay at the Monterey Bay Inn. The staff is wonderful and always willing to help. The hotel has a very "spa-like" feel, which is displayed throughout the property and especially in the guest rooms. We had [ ] an ocean view room on the fourth floor and what a treat to be able to keep the slider open all night and listen to the waves crash below. The morning was my favorite time of day as we awoke to the sound of the sea lions playing on the neighboring pier and sea otters playing in the ocean below. We especially liked the breakfast delivered to our room each morning, which was always fresh and delicious. We had a wonderful stay here and have already recommended this location to our family who are planning a trip to Monterey. Thanks again, we'll be back!” – 05/23/10
“Front desk staff… all were very friendly, helpful, and personable. We enjoyed the Chart House and the way you handled the reservations for us. It was a wonderful experience, both at your hotel and at the restaurant, where they treated us like royalty! …I simply cannot think of a thing that would make our stay better. Even when we came back for the third night and the only room available was "with a view of the street." …I do not think you have a bad room in the entire place! Also, I like things very clean, and you surpassed even my expectations. Your cleaning staff and breakfast folks were very good and very nice. Thank you for everything. We plan to come back in a couple of years or so and just stay there as a home base for several days.” – 05/20/10
“This reservation was a gift for Ralph and Nansi [ ] for their 50th anniversary. I am their daughter. I read the survey to them so I can answer questions honestly and they could not have complimented your hotel AND staff HIGH ENOUGH! :-)… My parents said EVERYONE was SO ACCOMMODATING and HELPFUL and SO POLITE! Everything was DELIGHTFUL and they LOVED their balcony and WINE! Monterey Bay Inn made my parents 50th Anniversary EXTRA SPECIAL :-)… Thank you everyone!” – 05/15/10
“It was our 32nd wedding anniversary. The balcony room was wonderful and romantic. The sound of the ocean waves, sea life and boats made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The nearby attractions, within walking distance, was perfect. We will definitely come again.” – 04/15/10
