What exhibits can I see at Carmen Mission?
There are a multitude of exhibits you can see at the Carmel Mission. Spanish colonial liturgical art can be found throughout the Basilica Church, the Serra Memorial Cenotaph sculpture is in the Jo Mora Gallery, interpretive artifacts are on display in the Harry Downie Museum, and the treasures of the Monterey family are what you’ll discover in the Munrás Family Heritage Museum.
Is the Church open and active?
Yes, it most certainly is. On Sunday morning, there are several masses. Quiet Mass at the Dawn begins at 7:30, the Children’s Mass follows at 9:15, and the Solemn Choir Mass takes place at 11:00. The Mid-Day Mass gets underway at 12:45. In addition, there’s a Vigil Mass on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Daily Mass every Monday through Friday at 7:00 a.m. and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon.
