Love this hotel so much it’s so pretty the views are what make it so wonderful

We love Monterey Bay Inn. It is in walking distance to the wharf and aquarium and has a beautiful view. The staff is so kind and friendly. We will definitely be staying at Monterey Bay Inn every time we visit Monterey for our whale watching trips as a family.

Location is amazing, just on the ocean But the hotel its very very old, needs a full refurbishment

We made reservations for a ocean harbor view room. We stayed in room 402. The room had a view of the street and a lawn area from the hotel room. If we went out on the balcony, and stood over to the right we could see the pier and ocean. When we checked out I asked the gentleman at the front desk if room 402 was really a ocean harbor view room. He told me it was. I asked him which rooms were cannery row view rooms, and he said room 302 and a couple of others. I mentioned room 302 was directly under our room and asked why was room 402 considered an ocean harbor view room? He said that was the way it was classified. Needless to say we were really disappointed the room was not what was promised and I would use caution when making reservations at the Monterey Bay Inn and make sure you get what is advertised.
