My husband and I drove the coast of California from Paso Robles to stay here in Monterey. After a long day of driving, we were thrilled to enter the building and hear they have upgraded us to partial ocean view. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed a relaxing view before dinner. It is centrally located near lot of activities, cafés, beaches, and more! I would like to also give a special shout out to Stacy at the front desk, who was so kind and greeted us and gave us food recommendations and things to do in the area. I would give this a five star review.

What a jewel this place is. The oceanfront rooms are spectacular! I had a bit of a misunderstanding with the 800 number reservation customer service line and was quite frustrated in regards to a price guarantee discrepancy. Afterwards, I phoned Assistant general manager Stacy Lee and she rectified the situation and delivered excellent customer service. She is a real asset to the management team. My wife and I are celebrating 20 years together and have always wanted to stay at this hotel. It was well worth the wait. Many people claim the Monterrey Plaza as the "best" location to stay and I must admit we thought the same. No more. The Monterrey Bay Inn has the best oceanfront experience hands down. Friends of ours stayed there and while it's a fabulous hotel (if you get the ocean view rooms) it's just a bit more special at the Monterrey Bay Inn. The ocean front rooms are private and literally "over" the water. It's like being on a cruise ship without the cramped accommodations. The views are spectacular and the rooms perfectly serviceable and comfortable. So much so that it easily overcomes the lack of onsite dining and spa services. They have a sister property (Casa Munrus) that offers excellent spa services and there are many walkable dining options near by as the location is right in the heart of Monterey. Skip the Intercontinental and Monterey Plaza and book a ocean front room at Monterey Bay Inn. Then invite those that booked elsewhere over to see what they missed out on! Much like the Dream Inn is the prefect Santa Cruz hotel, Monterey Bay Inn is the perfect Monterey hotel. Thank you Stacy Lee, you made our special getaway perfect! We really appreciate your customer service skills and helping us book the perfect stay for our Monterey getaway!

The bed and breakfasts in the area either had missing components (ocean views) or were fully booked. This hotel seemed like the most obvious option. If you're going to be in Monterey, CA, you'd want a place that provides a big breakfast, good quality coffee and an ocean view. It is a great place to stay for a weekend. I fell for Monterey when I saw Big Little Lies, and I pictured myself jogging near the beach, with my earbuds firmly in place. Pictured myself in a beachfront café, with my Kindle and a smile. Loved it! Beautiful place for a wonderful experience!

Recently went and I loved it! From getting breakfast every morning to hearing the ocean right out my balcony to seeing otters and sea lions in the water. It was the perfect little spot to be able to walk places.

Traveled to the west to attend a wedding. Stayed at the Monterey Bay Inn. The staff was professional, courteous, and friendly. Plenty of parking on site with easy in/out access to Cannery Row. The Inn has a pool. The room with "the view" exceeded our expectations (see pics). The sound made by the bay/ocean at night was relaxing. The view from the balcony of the boats, the seals, the sunset, the sunrise, and the bay was incredible. Breakfast was brought to the room and was delicious. As for location, we were within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and historical sites. As we walked along Cannery Row, we imagined with ease what John Steinbeck wrote about in his book. Overall, it's was a memorable stay and we would not hesitate to stay at the Monterey Bay Inn again.
