What a jewel this place is. The oceanfront rooms are spectacular! I had a bit of a misunderstanding with the 800 number reservation customer service line and was quite frustrated in regards to a price guarantee discrepancy. Afterwards, I phoned Assistant general manager Stacy Lee and she rectified the situation and delivered excellent customer service. She is a real asset to the management team. My wife and I are celebrating 20 years together and have always wanted to stay at this hotel. It was well worth the wait. Many people claim the Monterrey Plaza as the "best" location to stay and I must admit we thought the same. No more. The Monterrey Bay Inn has the best oceanfront experience hands down. Friends of ours stayed there and while it's a fabulous hotel (if you get the ocean view rooms) it's just a bit more special at the Monterrey Bay Inn. The ocean front rooms are private and literally "over" the water. It's like being on a cruise ship without the cramped accommodations. The views are spectacular and the rooms perfectly serviceable and comfortable. So much so that it easily overcomes the lack of onsite dining and spa services. They have a sister property (Casa Munrus) that offers excellent spa services and there are many walkable dining options near by as the location is right in the heart of Monterey. Skip the Intercontinental and Monterey Plaza and book a ocean front room at Monterey Bay Inn. Then invite those that booked elsewhere over to see what they missed out on! Much like the Dream Inn is the prefect Santa Cruz hotel, Monterey Bay Inn is the perfect Monterey hotel. Thank you Stacy Lee, you made our special getaway perfect! We really appreciate your customer service skills and helping us book the perfect stay for our Monterey getaway!

This place was a gem! I have a serious issue with cleanliness and this hotel took the cake! It didn't matter where I look, this place was clean! The hotel itself was a little older but well taken care of. I showed up only to be surprised by having an ocean front room which was amazing to look at and hear the ocean at night. The front desk personnel was nice, accommodating, and I will be coming back again. It's away from all the activity on cannery row but close enough to walk. I highly recommend this hotel. I will be coming back next year.

Just spent a few days to relax and enjoy the beautiful ocean view from Monterey Bay Inn rooms. Have stayed here several times and enjoyed every trip. Close to everything on Cannery Row and Fishermen’s Wharf, restaurants, activities. Have a very nice room service continental breakfast and staff very helpful in making any reservations needed. Great experience and value for the $$.

I have been visiting this property since the late 70's, and it has remained very quaint, but has evolved over time with the redevelopment of Cannery Row. The staff have always provided exceptional service, and granted special requests that make us feel appreciated. The level of hospitality displayed in all aspects of the operation, exhibit a commitment to providing their guests with a great experience. The properties location on the waters edge, along with the small boutique ambiance is highly recommended when staying over in Monterey.

We stayed at the Monterey Bay Inn Panoramic Ocean View Room on the 4th floor. Stacy Lee the manager made this a very special 10 year anniversary get away. Thank you for the bottle of wine and anniversary card. Great staff that is another reason we keep coming back. And you to otters, you put on a great show!

This hotel sits at the foot of Cannery Row. A Great location as this hotel juts out over the rocks to provide dramatic views of the ocean, bay and harbor. Sea life is quite visible to include seals, dolphins and otters. As a tourist - Canner Row is steps away and Carmel and 17 mile drive is a short distance as well. The hotel is comfortable, nicely furnished and has a parking garage.The staff is very welcoming and pleasant. If you are looking for a full service hotel with valet parking, resturant, large lobby and seating areas - this is not your hotel. But, if you are looking for a pleasant and relaxing stay - this should be a consideration.

My wife and I spent an impromptu weekend in Monterey. Our room had the bay view with a balcony, we left the sliding glass open and listened to the waves and sea lions all night. Surprisingly, it was relaxing. It's a short walk to the aquarium, about 15 mins down Cannery Row. Great desk service, 2 day tickets for the aquarium available and a self parking spot on site

Just spent 3 days at Monterey Bay Inn and it was amazing!! My husband and I go wanted a room with an ocean view and that’s exactly what we got, spectacular view from our room. Breakfast delivered to our room was awesome, such a little personal touch. Hotel is in perfect walking distance to Cannery Row and wharf. We will definitely be coming back and staying here again.

We spent last week at the Monterey Bay Inn and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. Service was friendly and prompt, and the view was outstanding. We were in an ocean view room and were able to watch Sea Otters, Seals, Dolphin, and loads of sea birds right from our balcony. The binoculars in the room were a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable, and both of us really liked the continental breakfast delivered to the room each morning. Fruit, yogurt, pastries, hard boiled eggs and coffee were available, which was plenty for us. With the doors and shutters closed, we could still hear the light sound of the waves and the sea lions barking in the distance at night - but no traffic noise. We found this location to be very quiet, yet close enough to easily walk to the aquarium, tons of restaurants and Cannery Row. We would definitely stay again.

The Monterey Bay is a beautiful setting for a perfect view of the Bay in a very quiet neighborhood. It's easy to walk to a restaurant, and you have lots of choices for where you would like to eat. We had a lovely room with a view of the Bay which was also very quiet. It couldn't have been more perfect!
