My husband and I visit Monterey every summer and have stayed at a number of hotels there. The Monterey Bay Inn is now our favorite one to stay at. This last visit, We stayed in an ocean view with balcony (room413) . Great view of the otters, commerant birds, kayakers, seagulls, divers, and boats. The continental breakfast was fine- pastries , fruit platter, yogurt, boiled eggs, juice, tea and coffee. Beach and park access right next to the hotel. Wonderful staff and they welcomed us with champagne and chocolate to celebrate our 22 year wedding anniversary.

We stayed two nights in a lovely room with a balcony that overlooks the park and boats. Room was large, everything worked. Bathroom was spacious. Everything was clean and well-kept. Front desk people were very helpful. Bed was comfy. The continental breakfast brought to the room ws a nice touch. Extra charge for parking, but DEFINITELY WORTH IT! Great location and view. We sat on the patio before dinner and watched the shorebirds and the people in the park. Very reasonably priced for location. Will stay here again next time we're in Monterey.

We spend every other year at the Inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff signs a celebratory card and we are provided a complimentary bottle of wine. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. The Inn sees to it that we stay in the same room every visit. Our visits are between five and eight wonderful days. We will keep coming back.

This is the only place we stay in Monterey! We’ve stayed here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. The staff are always super nice and accommodating. The views are incredible and the location is perfect. Highly recommended!

This is our second time staying here. Absolutely Love It.

We just enjoyed four nights at the Monterey Bay Inn and I can’t say enough nice things about it. Everything at this boutique hotel was clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and professional. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast delivered to the room every morning was a great way to start the day. We had a harbor-view king room with a balcony overlooking a small beach park, tide pools, a fountain, and a wharf and marina in the distance. I can close my eyes and still see it all. If you are considering a visit, do not hesitate!

We booked for an anniversary weekend & once we arrived, everything was so pleasant. Parking was easy, lobby was relaxing with aroma therapy & calming music. The front desk concierge was welcoming, kind & knowledgeable. Room was clean, modern & well maintained. The not tub areas were also clean & well maintained. Would absolutely stay here again. The only thing that was a little much was the volume of the music in the lobby hallway to the elevator was a bit higher than I would prefer. Overall, amazing stay!

We've stayed at many of the resorts and hotels in Monterey and Carmel, but this, by far, has been one of the best! The staff was most accommodating and courteous. Our room with a bay view was large and very comfortable. What a treat it was to wake up to the sound of the waves, sea birds, and yes, even seals. The best treat was ordering our complimentary breakfast the night prior, which was delivered as room service promptly at the time requested!! We enjoyed our boiled eggs, yogurts, fruits and pastries, coffee and juices out on our balcony on a sunny morning. We will certainly be returning to this gem along the Monterey Bay!

We stayed here the week after Thanksgiving in an Ocean View room that was spectacular. The carpeted room itself is very well appointed with a comfortable king bed, down pillows, individual night stands, a work table and chair, 2 side chairs and a large table, 3 drawer dresser that doubled as a stand for the 48" flat screen TV. Custom lighting with recessed ceiling can-lights with dimmers, a table lamp, floor lamp and 2 bedside reading lamps. Great WiFi. The walls were tastefully decorated with local themed art. There was a mini frig under a shelf in the hallway holding a Keurig coffee pot, tea pot, mugs and glasses. The bathroom was spacious with more ceiling lights, his/hers sinks, tiled floors, granite counter, a wide mirrored closet with safe and tub/shower combination. The lav was in a separate room to itself. The private balcony patio overlooking the the ocean had 2 chairs, a table and flower pot with flowers. The views were incredible, wildlife everywhere looking across the bay including sea otters and sea lions feeding in the kelp be right out front. The patio was accessed by a sliding glass door with screen and 3 separate wooden louvered doors. Breakfast was delivered daily to the room consisting of your choice of fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, a carafe of coffee or tea, pastries and juice. Incredibly good. There is a $24 daily parking fee for the ground level garage. Well worth it as we found everything we wanted to see within easy walking distance. The hotel has 2 hot tubs that we saw and outdoor reading, visiting areas. Fresh cookies in the lobby daily. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. This was our first time staying at MBI, but won't be the last.
