The property had amazing views of the harbor and bay but the most outstanding part for us honestly was the check in process I know this is not normally a big point for most people when searching for a place to stay but the staff at the front desk was friendly welcoming very kind and offered many suggestions of things to do and see would definitely stay again just based on that experience

The hotel is very well located - and we loved being able to see the sea lions right next to the property. The room was nice and spacious.

Everything was spectacular! Beautiful views. Walkable! Charming! Breakfast delivery wonderful. Parking easy. The room was thoughtfully laid out - plantation blinds, potted flower on the balcony, large ice bucket to accommodate a bottle of wine, robes…Very aesthetically pleasing. Cookies on arrival. Superb staff w/great eating recommendations. Lovely! Lovely! Nothing - not one thing disliked.

Beautiful location only problem was the seals but we made it work. We can wait to come back.

This has become a favorite on the Monterey coast! The staff is amazing. Friendly, helpful, professional. All the amenities of the slightly more upscale Monterey Plaza, right next-door, but more intimate and less corporate feeling. Also slightly lower prices. And, their breakfast delivery service to your room is amazing. The fruit is always top-notch, and the bakery items are surprisingly fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this Monterey Bay Inn.

Considering I knew what I was getting into (price), its hard to be disappointed. So i have to give it a 5, again, based on knowing what I was getting into. Lets face it, the place was built in the 30's. So if you are expecting modern day equivalent accommodations, you might be disappointed. I didn't expect it, so I wasn't. I picked it because I wanted a view to relax upon. Location was great, damn sea lions kept me up all night as they were barking 24/7. I just chalk that up as a once in a lifetime experience as they aren't normally there in mass like this. The staff was helpful. My room was clean and I didn't notice any issues like others did. Thin walls? Again the place was built in the 30's. Surprised its still there to be honest. Hard bed? My bed at home is on the stiff side. Pillows? A bit weak, but they do give you an option for different pillows. Breakfast wasn't anything to write home about but it was nice. Parking, this is where the age of the hotel comes in. The spaces are too small for modern cars. Saw a few trucks and sedans that did not fit in their spaces, but it is what it is. I would have no issues staying here again.

Just spent this past weekend there with my wife, the rooms were good and comfortable, we had a good view of the ocean from our room, there are a bunch of sealions on the beach making noise, but the hotel will give you earplugs so you can sleep, great location walking distance to cannery row, we will stay there again thanks for the service.

Quiet, inn stunning views across the bay towards fisherman's wharf and beyond. Basic but adequate breakfast, and very pleasant and helpful staff. Love listening to sea lions from the room.

Now this place is nice. The staff is excellent. The breakfast served each morning is a treat. The fruit and pastry was different each morning. The room was great, the hot water was very hot, and the room was well stocked. The views from the room and from the upper level hot tub area are amazing. The hot tubs were each very clean. I highly recommend this establishment and will be retuning often.
